Son of Prosper Alfred Mannier (Artillery Captain in the French Army based in Strasbourg) and Mathilde Clémentine Gros (died few days after the birth of Henry)

Nephew of Charles Alexandre Prosper Mannier (1823-1849), painter. His sister married the eldest son of Ernest Meissonier. Henry was the pupil of his own uncle Lucien Alphonse Gros (Strasbourg, 1845-Poissy, 1913), himself pupil of Ernest Meissonier.

Henry got married with Mathilde Constantine Marie Marthe Gronow (1861-1937) in 1890. He has got one son: Guy Mortimer Mannier (Officer in the French Army) and one daughter: Germain Edith Mannier. Information courtesy of Galerie de Lardemelle, Paris.
