James J. Vullo (1914 - 1999) was active/lived in New York.  James Vullo is known for Cubist landscape painting, drawing and teaching.

A lifelong resident of Buffalo New York, James Vullo began painting as a child.  He served in the Army's 149th Infantry and fought in the Battle of the Bulge during World War Two.  Vullo was a student and then teacher at The Art Institute of Buffalo alongside such distinguished faculty as Charles Burchfield, Edwin Dickinson and Isaac Soyer.  He later became a professor of fine arts at Buffalo State College. 


Vullo exhibited widely during his lifetime including shows at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Museum of Modern Art, the Brooklyn Museum and the Butler Institute.  His work almost exclusively reflects the geographic area where he lived.  His paintings can be found in many private and public collections.Information provided by Dean Brownrout.   ...  [Displaying 807 of 15461 characters.]  Artist bio
