William Armour

William Armour (1903 - 1979) was active/lived in Scotland.  William Armour is known for Still life, landscape, marine and portrait painting, teaching.

William Armour was born in Paisley. He attended The Glasgow School of Art between 1918 & 1923 under Maurice Greiffenhagen. In 1927 he married Mary Steel (Mary Neil Nicoll Armour) and he joined the staff of the Glasgow School of Art in 1947.

He was considered to be a gifted and influential teacher and became Head of Drawing. He exhibited frequently including at the Royal Scottish Academy (RSA), the Glasgow Institute (RGI) and at the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours (RSW).
