Heinrich Witz (born October 16, 1924 in Leipzig, † March 1997 in Halle / Saale) was a German painter and graphic artist.

Witz attended elementary school in Leipzig until 1939. From 1939 to 1942 he trained as a color lithographer. After serving in the war and being a prisoner of war, he studied with Kurt Masslow at the Leipzig Academy of Graphics and Book Art from 1945 to 1948. After working as a cultural functionary at IG Metall Leipzig, he worked as a freelance artist in Bitterfeld from 1961. He was a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR and temporarily chairman of its Leipzig district association.

Witz was the first painter who tried to implement "Socialist Realism" based on the Soviet model. In 1959, he was the first artist to conclude a sponsorship agreement with Wismut based on the concept of the Bitterfelder Weg.
