Higashiyama Kaii (1908 - 1999),was born at Yokohama in 1908.1931,Higashiyama graduated from Tokyo School of Fine Arts (currently Tokyo University of the Arts). 1933,He went to Europe to learn Fine arts (went back Japan in 1935). 1947,The work "Fragmentary Light" was shown in the 3rd Japan Fine Arts Exhibition and was warmly welcomed, which made him become famous.1950,The work "The Road" was shown in the 6th Japan Fine Arts Exhibition, and it made a brilliant figure.1956,The work "The dusky light" was shown in the 11th Japan Fine Arts Exhibition. 1990,Higashiyama Kaii Gallery was opened in the City Park, Nagano. O May 6th, 1999,Higashiyama passed away, and obtained the Orders of the Sacred Treasure.
