Osvaldo Licini

Osvaldo Licini (1894 - 1958) was active/lived in Italy.  Osvaldo Licini is known for Painting.

Osvaldo Licini, born in Monte Vidon Conrad in 1894, after some sporadic contact with the avant-garde young realist and a period which culminated in participation in the 1926 first exhibition of twentieth-century Italian converts in 1930 in a very poetic abstract.  It is thus, almost inevitably, part of a group of abstract painters who gathered around the tunnel million, represents a fundamental open era in Italian to the most innovative international experiences.  Of that group includes Reggiani, Soldiers and Veronesi, more related to geometric abstraction, but Fontana and Melotti, which together with Licini represent the more liberal wing of abstraction, giving way to organic shapes and lyrical movements.

Million-group trials are too advanced for the cultural climate of the period and will result in a very limited audience, the many innovations of these artists will be recognized in the fifties, which will be celebrated as teachers and capiscuola.    ...  [Displaying 1000 of 3477 characters.]  Artist bio
