Alexandra (Sandie) Gardner was born in 1945 in Glasgow, Scotland. She showed exceptional artistic talent from a young age and was accepted to study at the prestigious Glasgow School of Art in 1963. After qualifying, she was offered a lecturing position at the Art School at the age of 22. Gardner had a successful teaching career and also painted for several prestigious galleries in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and London, having several highly acclaimed solo shows. In 1988, after 21 years of teaching, Gardner retired to become a full-time professional artist. She is known for her Scottish art and has worked in various mediums
