Anatoly Alexeevitch Bolkhontsev (1933 - 2017) was active/lived in Russian Federation.  Anatoly Bolkhontsev is known for Portrait, rural landscape and surreal painting.

The career of Anatoly Bolkhontsev began at the Russian Art Academy in St. Petersburg. He attended the art studio of the famous battle painter Yevsey Moiseenko for four years. Since 1964 the artist has become a full member of the Artists Association of the USSR.

His early work is an artistic expression of everyday life in Russia in the second half of the 20th century. However, his artistic style changed rapidly after the downfall of the Soviet Union. The surrealistic representation of his late works dominates over the realistic nature of his early works.

The political motives are often characterized by sharp satire. Today, his works can be found in private collections in Russia, France, Germany and the USA as well as in numerous museums, among other in the Russian Museum (St. Petersburg) and Lugansk Art Gallery (Ukraine).
