Carl Strathmann (1866 - 1939) was active/lived in Germany.  Carl Strathmann is known for Painting.

Carl Strathmann was born in 1866 in Düsseldorf. From 1882-86 he studied at the art academy in Düsseldorf with Adolf Schill, Heinrich Lauenstein and Hugo Crola. Then, from 1886-89 he studied at the art school in Weimar and here took a master class here from 1888-89 with Leopold Graf von Kalckreuth. He moved to Munich in 1891 and became friends with Lovis Corinth. Around 1900 he worked with Adelbert Niemeyer and Alexander von Salzmann atelier. Strathmann worked as a draftsman for Fliegende Blätter, Jugend and Simplicissimus. Among other things he was a member of the Free Association of XXIV.
