Chester Glenn Murphy

Chester Glenn Murphy (1907 - 1997) was active/lived in Oregon, Kansas.  Chester Murphy is known for Mountain landscape and seascape easel painting, murals.

Chester Murphy was a painter of landscapes and seascapes and also did mural painting.  He taught at the Juniper Art Guild in Crook County. He moved to Portland in 1927 and was exhibiting with the Oregon Society of Artists by 1951, later serving as their president.

His visits to foreign countries, including Mexico and the Philippines, provided themes for his illustrated books. He received many awards for juried shows after 1959.
