Chris Murfitt grew up in Oakville, Ontario and studied graphic design and animation. He moved to Calgary in 1988, as a computer graphics artist. Since 2010, Chris has been seriously pursuing his passion of watercolor painting. His subjects are varied – from landscapes, to architecture, to still life. “When people see my work, I’d like them to feel familiar with the subject; as if they have been there before or as if they could step into the painting and feel at home. I’d like the viewer to be reminded of an object or eventthat makes them feel a connection to the painting.” He has participated in the Calgary Stampede Art Show for several years and his artwork is in the June/July edition of Canadian Cowboy Country. Chris isfeatured in several private collections and displays his work in galleries in Alberta.
