Dora De Larios

Dora De Larios (1933 - 2018) was active/lived in California.  Dora De Larios is known for Ceramics, murals, pottery and art educator.

Ceramicist, Dora De Larios, is not only recognized for her mural, sculpture, pottery, and architectural work, but she has also been an instructor for ceramics at the University of Southern California (USC) and the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA).

De Larios, a native of Los Angeles, remained in California for the extent of her education.  She attended the University of Southern California where she received instruction from, Susan Peterson, as well as sculptors, Vivika and Otto Heino.  In 1957 she graduated with degree in Fine Art.

She was selected to be one of fourteen artists to create place settings for the White House in Washington, D.C. in 1977, when Mrs. Carter hosted a lunch party for the wives of United States senators.  Following the luncheon, the collection of dinnerware was included in the "American Crafts for the White House" touring exhibition.
