Beth Van Liere’s bold distinctive style has been described as akin to Impressionism with
a mix of Corot and the Nabis. She worked in various mediums including oil, acrylic, pastel,
lithography and monotype. Her paintings are marked by sure, soft brush strokes which dissolve into one another as they crowd or float or sweep across the canvas. Her technique is always identifiably hers, but is not formulaic. It is easy to get lost in her brush strokes or puzzle at the underlying composition that serves to make her images so memorable.
Van Liere always wanted to be an artist and started taking lessons in her preteen years.
