Franz Kienmayer (1886 - 1963) was active/lived in Germany, Austria.  Franz Kienmayer is known for Painting.

German-Austrian artist Franz Kienmayer as born in 1886 in Vienna. 


Kienmayer was a painter, draftsman, craftsman and illustrator.  He studied at the Academy in Vienna with Delug and in Leipzig.  He started his military service in 1916 as a war painter of the art group of the k.u.k.


He had stays in Bukowina and Suta near Muereasca, then worked in Vienna, Predlitz-Turrach and Graz.  Kienmayer worked until 1942 as a professor in Leipzig.  Starting in 1931 he was a member of the Leipzig Masonic Lodge "Apollo".   In 1926 he made extensive trips to East Asia to Japan.   Kienmayer took study trips to Java, Bali and Indonesia starting in 1929 and further study trips, including to Italy, after the Second World War in Baden-Baden.
