Hans Meyboden

Hans Meyboden (1901 - 1965) was active/lived in Germany.  Hans Meyboden is known for Landscape, portrait and still life paintings, teaching.

Kratzer ro Meyboden studied painting from 1919 to 1923 at the Dresden Art Academy under the direction of Oskar Kokoschka. Due to a nervous ailment, which he pulled in a ski accident, he could not work continuously, nevertheless created impressive works in this time.

Through the intercession of Max Liebermann and Ulrich Hübners, Meyboden received for three years a master atelier at the Prussian Academy of Arts. During this time he was very productive and created numerous works.

Afterwards he moved to the artist village Fischerhude. There he meets the artist family Rohmeyer and his future wife Gretlies Rohmeyer. From 1937 his works were considered degenerate art. During the war he lost his studio and most of his work in Berlin.

In the 1950s, Meyboden received numerous prizes, among others the Böttcherpreis, as well as the price of the city Hannover. In 1956 he was appointed as a lecturer at the Karlsruhe Art Academy and took over the painting class at the field of   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 2649 characters.]  Artist bio
