Harry Mintz

Harry S. Mintz (1907 - 2002) was active/lived in Illinois / Poland.  Harry Mintz is known for Abstract imagery, modernist-leaning landscape, teaching.

Formal training: Cleveland School of Art

Artist Statements of Artistic Influences:

From the French school - Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Georges Seurat and Camille Pissarro: the way they use light and color impressed me.

From the English school - John Constable: his use of color and light in landscapes opened a new window to me.

As far as American artists, I especially liked George Bellows. When I was kid I was impressed with his piece "stag et sharkies".  The action and the strength of the painting sang to me. I also admire John Singer Sargent.
