Isaac de Moucheron was a Dutch painter born in 1667 to a family of artists. He was a student of his father and was influenced by Jan Glauber and Albert Meyeringh. He joined the Dutch painters' brotherhood in Italy and was influenced by the art of Gaspard Dughet and Pietro Testa. He settled in Amsterdam and became a highly respected painter of plafonds and decorative sets of landscapes. He also painted veduta, park landscapes, castles and palaces, and Roman ruins.
