In this veduta the daily hustle and bustle in the lagoon of Venice is depicted from the sea: A gondola cruises in the foreground, while numerous boats with cheerful orange sails cavort on the waterways behind. Behind the Punta della Dogana at the entrance to the Grand Canal follows the church of Santa Maria della Salute, behind which in turn is the dome with the bell towers of the church of Santa Maria del Rosario (I Gesuati).
