Art for Sale
Jean Miotte

Jean Miotte (1926 - 2016) was active/lived in France.  Jean Miotte is known for Painting and sculpture.

French painter born in Paris, Jean Miotte was a representative of lyrical abstraction. He frequented the Montparnasse studios of Othon Friesz and Ossip Zadkine and exhibited for the first time at the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles. Jean began in a lyrical spontaneity where the gushing writing took precedence over formal research and everything became movement to reach the sign in monochromy. He then returned to polychromy with dynamic acquis and a tendency towards a more descriptive graphic design, an accentuation of contrasts and a widening of space. In 2002, the Jean Miotte Foundation opened in New York with a permanent collection of his works.   ...  [Displaying 660 of 1058 characters.]  Artist bio
