Biography photo for Torsten Andersson
Torsten Anderson was born in 1926 and died in 2009.

Torsten Anderson was a Swedish artist who worked with sculpture in the 1960s before switching to painting. Torsten worked hard to develop his own unique expression and language of painting, which he found in portraiture and abstract sculptures.

Towards the end of Anderson life, he incorporated softer forms of textile elements into his work.

Andersson was interested in the process of releasing and redeeming forms, which he believed was the content of his images. Lars Nittve described his painting as determined and decisive, impressing and puzzling the viewer.
