Vera Spencer (Born 1926) is active/lives in United Kingdom.  Vera Spencer is known for Collage painting.

Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, Vera Spencer moved to England in 1936.  She married Herbert Spencer, the pioneering Graphic Designer, and founder of the Typographica journal in 1945.  A year later she began at the Slade School of Fine Art & Central School of Textile Design.  Spencer played an active role in the Post-War abstract art movement in both Britain and the Continent. 

The bold saturated color combined with the seemingly weightless organic forms of her work produce an almost hypnotic effect that is characteristic of Spencer's work from the period when she was friends with artists such as Paule Vezelay.  She joined the English branch of Group Espace and exhibited alongside Jean Arp and Sonia Delaunay at the Festival Hall in 1955.
