Art for Sale
Wilhelm Nikolaus Prachensky

Wilhelm Nikolaus Prachensky (1898 - 1956) was active/lived in Austria.  Wilhelm Prachensky is known for Abstract landscape, still life and buildings, watercolors on paper.

Wilhelm Nikolaus Prachensky, one of the most important representatives of Tyrolean modernism of the interwar period, developed from the 1920s an increasingly reduced language of colors and shapes. He thus gave the local landscape a modern and contemporary character.

In addition to landscapes and still lifes, views of places and buildings quickly took a prominent place in his work. Prachensky found his designs near his home on the Bergisel, in the surrounding valleys, and in many villages in the Tyrolean low mountain, including Natters.

The bird's eye view of the church square, characteristic of this charming village, derives its particular charm from the reduced color of white and brown tones. The thick layer of snow on the roofs and paths emphasizes the square shape of the houses as well as the winding lines of the streets, thus intensifying the alpine character of the image.
