Adolphe Milich, born in Tishne (Poland) in 1884, died in Paris in 1964, was a French painter of Polish origin.

In 1897, Adolphe Milich is a painter in letters. His father, a merchant, was ruined in a fire. To support his family, he emigrated to Lodz and became a teacher. Milich went to study at the Beaux-Arts in Warsaw and Munich from 1902 to 1904 and followed the courses of the painter Franz von Stuck in 1903.

One day in Munich, chance made him meet Jules Pascin then draftsman at Simplicissimus. He advised him to go to Paris but Milich dreams of discovering Italy. He went to Rome, Florence and Venice. To live, he made drawings for his colleagues who sold them under their own names.

Called to Warsaw for military service, he was rejected because he was too small. In 1909, he spent a few months in Paris, attended the workshop of Claudio Castelucho.
