Claude Grosperrin

Claude Grosperrin (1936 - 1977) was active/lived in France.  Claude Grosperrin is known for Impressionist paintings of buildings, marine scenes, horses and riders.

Claude Grosperrin (1939-1977) was a French Impressionist who painted during the middle of the 20th century. His interest in lithography began during his studies at Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in the atelier of Brianchon. There he developed a love of the process, and soon his work caught on in local galleries.

After some one-man exhibits in London and New York, Grosperrin received international attention. The city of Paris is known as one of the purchasers of his oils and lithographs. He was influenced by painters such as Maurice Brianchon and exhibited widely in France and abroad, including at Wildenstein, Charpenetier, Durand-Ruel and Weil.

His work is held in a number of public galleries in France, including Angers, Mulhouse, Paris and Toulouse and internationally in galleries in Cologne, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and Stuttgart.
