Clement Leopold Steiner

Clement Leopold Steiner (1853 - 1899) was active/lived in France.  Clement Steiner is known for Allegorical, mythology and heroic bronze figure sculpture.

Leopold Steiner was born in Paris on 7 March 1853 , and died at Bois-le-Roi , in the Seine-et-Marne, in December 1899. Steiner was a famed French sculptor. The son of a sculptor, Steiner studied art at the School of Fine Arts of Paris and was a pupil of Fran Ãlois Jouffroy and Aimi Millet.

In 1875 Leopold won the competition organized by the city of Paris to create the Monument of Defense of the city. Also in the same year he receives a mention and his first piece was presented to the Salon. Leopold Steiner received a first class medal at the 1884 Salon for his Sculpture Berger and Sylvain, which was later acquired by the French state, and a statue of Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle, which was installed at Choisy-le-Roi.
