painter and sculptor Elisabeth Collins studied at the Royal College of Art where she was taught by Henry Moore and met her husband Cecil Collins. Her work was inspired by folklore and fantasy, creating works in a seemingly naïve and dreamlike style. During the years of the Second World War the couple lived in the artistic community at Dartington in Devon with American artist Mark Tobey.
