Emil Wachter

Emil Wachter (1921 - 2021) was active/lived in Germany.  Emil Wachter is known for Abstract painting of sail boats, still life, portraits, landscape, teaching.

Emil Wachter was a German artist who studied theology and philosophy at the University of Freiburg before switching to painting and sculpture at the Karlsruhe Academy. 

He worked as a freelance artist from 1954 and taught at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe from 1958 to 1963. Wachter is known for his works in sacred buildings, particularly his many glass windows, and has designed entire church buildings. 

His themes are partly taken from the Christian-Jewish tradition. He has had over a hundred solo exhibitions.
