Emilio Ortiz (1936 - 1988) was active/lived in Mexico.  Emilio Ortiz is known for Painting, engraving, sculpture, surrealism, popular art, fantasy.

Presents details of conservation and removal of pictorial layer. He was a painter, engraver and sculptor; His training was self-taught, since the teaching given at the Academia de San Carlos and La Esmeralda left him dissatisfied. 

His first individual exhibition was presented in 1962, a year that marked the beginning of a phase of travel that would take him to New York, Paris, London and Minneapolis. 

Among his interests were cinema, psychoanalytic literature, surrealism and Mexican popular art, sources that fed his taste for the fantastic.
