Fernand Allard L'Olivier

Fernand Allard L'Olivier (1883 - 1933) was active/lived in France, Belgium.  Fernand LOlivier is known for Landscape, African scenes.

Fernand Allard L'Olivier was a French artist who trained in engraving and lithography. He became an impressionist after discovering the light and pure colors in Brittany.

L'Olivier exhibited in Paris and was promoted to the rank of "Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur". He then traveled to Europe and North African countries before beginning the third part of his career in the Congo in 1928. His African paintings were painted in broad brush strokes, flooded with light and bursting with color.

L'Olivier accidentally drowned in the river on his return trip from the Congo in 1933.

His works are held in several museums including the Museum of the Army in Brussels, Museum of Fine Arts Tournai, and Museum of La Louvière.
