Jack Callahan

Jack Callahan (1911 - 1983) was active/lived in Massachusetts.  Jack Callahan is known for Portrait, landscape.

An award-winning portrait painter, Jack Callahan worked in both oil and pastel and was active in Boston art circles as well as in Rockport and Gloucester where he had studios. Among his honors were the gold medal of honor from the Hudson Valley art Association, Best Portrait from the Pastel Society of America, and best in show of the North Shore Arts Association.

He was born in Sommerville, Massachusetts, and attended the Massachusetts School of Art and the Vesper George Art School in Boston where he also became a teacher.
