Jean-Paul Moscovino was born in 1947 in Paris. Classically trained, he explored a variety of techniques before approaching sculpture. He uses a tradition of "cut-out colour", devoting his skills to cutting and folding metal like origami to refigure the shape, bypassing volume in favour of creating planes of colour that react to light and gaze. His metal cut outs are placed in space, the colour blue used to create depth and a uniform experience. He has lived and worked in Loiret since 1982.
