John Clarke Isaac Uren

John Clarke Isaac Uren (1845 - 1932) was active/lived in United Kingdom, England.  John Uren is known for Watercolor seascape painting.

John Clarke Uren was born June 1st, 1845 in Truro, Cornwall, England.  He was the son of a picture framer and gilder on Lemon Street inTruro.  As part of his education, he won a free studentship and a full certificate for education at the Penzance School of Art.  

His first picture sent to London was purchased at the Dudley Gallery in London.  He went on to exhibit at the Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society's Exhibition and the Plymouth Exhibition, in addition to work sent to the Royal Institute of Watercolors, and most importantly for his reputation, the Royal Academy of Art, London.  

He also contributed water colors to Manchester and other leading provincial exhibitions, and in Canada and New Zealand.
