A painter and teacher, Lenore Benolken was a vital part in Omaha of its early 20th century fine art culture. She was the daughter of highly respected parents whose role in the community opened many doors for their only child. Lenore did portrait and landscape paintings, gave public lectures, taught in several schools, founded an art school of her own, volunteered art lessons to soldiers, and maintained a home where she and her husband each had a studio and extended much hospitality to their many art focused friends. 

Descriptions of her include beautiful, upbeat, full of humor and good will, and stylish with an affinity for dramatic, exotic attire.
