Nora Frances Elizabeth Collyer (AKA: Nora Collyer) was a painter and art educator.  She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada where, other than for travel, she lived her entire life and died.
 
Her primary mediums are oil on canvas and oil on board.  Works in any medium other than oil are rare, none are recorded by AskART as having been sold at auction (or by any other sources, checked by the author, going back over 25 years).  However, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts has a drawing by her in its collection, one assumes there must be more given the fact she was a drawing teacher.  Her subjects are landscapes, buildings in landscapes, villages, still life, riverscapes and flowers.  Figures, human or animal, are also rare or nonexistent in her paintings. The landscape locations are in south-eastern Quebec and Nova Scotia.  Her style is Fauvism* and Plein Air*.
