A New Harbor, Maine resident for most of his life, Gamage was a student of Charles Woodbury.  His known paintings are  Impressionist in nature and include the scenery of New Harbor, Monhegan, and Pemaquid Point on the Maine Coast.  His works are in a number of private, university and museum collections.
