Richard Bergh

Richard Bergh (1858 - 1919) was active/lived in Sweden.  Richard Bergh is known for Painting.

Contrary to most of their peers Swedish generation Richard Bergh grew up in a well environment with strong and intellectual interest.  He was the son of the eminent landscape painter Edvard Bergh, who belonged to the circle of paint King Carl XV.

Richard Bergh was the first student of Perseus, in the established art school, he became partner with, inter alia, Nordstrom, Krouthén and Björck, and then 1878-81 at the Academy of Fine Arts. During most of the 1880s he was living in France, in Paris winters, summers in Normandy, Brittany or Grèz. He studied at the Académie Colarossi and JP Laurens's studio, participated regularly at the Salon and was commissioner of the exhibition From the Seine in 1885 (along with Josephson) and Swedish participation in the World Expo in 1889. Then it seemed Bergh in Stockholm, with the exception of the years 1893- 96, when he belonged to the group of artists in Miami.
