Stanley Long

Stanley M. Long (1892 - 1972) was active/lived in California.  Stanley Long is known for Western ranch life and horses painting, illustration.

Stanley Long grew up on a ranch in Napa, California breaking wild horses.  At the age of 15 he enrolled in the San Francisco Art Institute where he was awarded a scholarship to Paris' Academie Julian.  He served in the camouflage corps in both world wars and taught for 17 years at Polytechnic High School.  His love for ranch life is reflected in his all his work.
