Stig Lindberg

Stig Lindberg (1916 - 1982) was active/lived in Sweden.  Stig Lindberg is known for Painting and sculpture.

Stig Lindberg is one of the 20th century's most prominent designers in Sweden. His ability to combine the aesthetic with the practical has contributed to several of his objects today being considered classics in the Swedish home.

Only 21 years old, Stig Lindberg went to Gustavsbergs Porslinsfabrik and asked to get a summer job. The then manager Hjalmar Olson was hesitant, the factory was not doing well and they could hardly hire more. "If you hire me, I'll make sure there are jobs at the factory," replied the confident Lindberg. Under Wilhelm Kåge's leadership, Stig Lindberg had to show his front feet and he stayed at Gustavsberg for many years.
