Susan Burrows Dabney

Susan Burrows Dabney (20th century) was active/lived in Montana.  Susan Dabney is known for Landscape, botanic, still life.

Susan Burrows Dabney received her formal art education at Garland Jr. College (1967), the Boston Museum School in Massachusetts (1968), the Art Students League in Denver (1988-1990), and Southern Methodist University''s Meadows School of the Arts in Dallas, Texas (1991-1992).

Her painting style has been influenced through her studies with Quang Ho, and the noted Santa Barbara artist, Douglass Parshall, who encouraged Dabney to pursue and develop her style as a plein-air artist.

Dabney is known for her rich colors, thick textures, and her spontaneous and passionate approach to painting. She has successfully combined her love a travel and her love of painting on location.

The artist resides with her family in Bozeman, Montana, and is affiliated with the National Caucus for the Arts, the Montana Institute for the Arts, and Bozeman''s Emerson Cultural Center.
