Ted Blaylock

Ted Blaylock (1940 - 2022) was active/lived in Arizona, Illinois.  Ted Blaylock is known for Wildlife, birds, genre, views, sculptor.

Ted Blaylock opened his own art studio and gallery in Collinsville, IL in 1969. He eventually moved west to Arizona and for the past thirty years, his art has graced many collectors' walls and has been published worldwide.

Blaylock was selected for the 1990-1991 Arizona Duck Stamp and the Arizona Lifetime Trout Stamp in 1994. He was also selected to show with the top 100 Artists for the National Parks and Birds in Art and has a permanent display in the Leaning Tree Museum of Western Art.

Ted Blaylock 81, a beloved husband, father, and friend, entered into eternal life with His Heavenly Father, February 25, 2022 with family by his side.

Ted was born in Perryville, MO in 1940, one of five children born to Iva and Harold Blaylock.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, a brother and two young granddaughters.

Ted is survived by his wife Norma, of more than 61 years, their four sone, Jim, Tim, Harold and Tom and also a sister, and brother plus 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

While living in the St. Louis area during his young life and marriage, Ted worked at several occupations, including a diversion clerk for the Wabash R.R. and soon after a pipe fitter, welder.  He wanted to provide for his growing family but also had the dream of earning a living from his God given talent as an artist. 

Soon after he opened an art studio in Collinsville, IL and thus began his career as an artist.  Ted rededicated his life to the Lord Jesus in Nov. 1971 and claimed Galatians 2:20 as his life verse.  He also dedicated a painting to the Lord soon after added his faith mark along with his signature on all his paintings.

In December of 1972, Ted moved his young family to Arizona on the hopes of furthering his lifelong dream as an artist.  They settled in Mesa, AZ and soon displayed his paintings in Scottsdale, AZ, Jackson Hole, WY and the Fall Festival at Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO.  The family attended First Baptist Church in Mesa and became members.  After moving to Payson, AZ they attended Ponderosa Bible Church. 

Besides painting and sculpting, Ted loved to hunt and fish which led to ideas for many a painting. 

A celebration of life will be held April 27, 2022.
