Thomas Walmsley

Thomas Walmsley (1763 - 1806) was active/lived in United Kingdom.  Thomas Walmsley is known for Picturesque landscapes in gouache and aquatint..

The son of a Lancashire military officer, Thomas Walmsley was born in Ireland while his family were stationed there. He painted scenery for Richard Daly's theater in Dublin in the late 1780s. Throughout the 1790s he painted mostly in Wales, although with occasional visits to Ireland where he painted landscapes which were later engraved and sold as sets of prints.
