Titina Maselli

Titina Maselli (1924 - 2005) was active/lived in New York / Italy, France.  Titina Maselli is known for Painting.

Titina Maselli began to devote herself to painting as a child, encouraged by her father, art critic Hercules Maselli.

There was a cultural atmosphere in her family of artists, intellectuals and prominent critics. During the German occupation, the house Maselli sees a lot of wanted militants and Jews fleeing the Nazis and Fascists.

In 1945 she married the artist Toti Scialoja.

In 1948, at age twenty-four, she exhibited for the first time at the Obelisk Gallery in Rome, presented in the catalog by the writer Corrado Alvaro. In the mid-forties her works began to explore the territories of the contemporary city and its inhabitants that move in the places of the community, streets, stadiums ...

In 1950, she participated for the first time at the Venice Biennale, and in 1954, 1956, 1964, 1984 thereafter, and in 1951 she exhibited at the Art Quadrennial of Rome.
