Vicente March y Marco

Vicente March y Marco (1859 - 1914) was active/lived in Spain.  Vicente March y Marco is known for Orientalist themes in painting.

Vicente March was a Valencian painter who trained at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts and completed his studies in Rome at the Chigi Academy. He traveled to North Africa where he began to paint orientalist themes. 

March received numerous awards and honors during his life, including the silver medal at the Valencia Regional Exhibition, awards at the Berlin and Munich exhibitions, and the silver medal at the International Exhibition of Rome. 

He was appointed as Knight of the Order of Carlos III shortly before his death. March's work is spread across several countries, including Germany, Belgium, Brazil, England, the United States, Argentina, France, and Sweden. In Spain, his work is concentrated in the hands of individuals.
