Artist Biography & Facts
Vladimir Vela

Vladimir Vela (Born 1980) is known for Painting.

Véla began his studies at the Prague Academy in the Studio of Classical Painting of Prof. Zdenek Beran and then graduated from the Studio of Intermedial Art of Prof. Milan Knížák. The transition between these studios enabled the painter, even during his studies, to smoothly and artistically sovereignly change the realistic handwriting to abstracted objects appearing on the surface of the canvas in the form of spots, signs, gestures or symbols, the shapes of which are determined by changes in light and color conditions. In the background, one can sense inspiration mainly from nature, but also from sacred, even spiritual landscapes. Color is then the basic element that shapes the space itself in Vél's paintings, its depth and suggestive emotional depth of the given subject. In addition to his work, Vladimír Véla is engaged in teaching activities at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Art Design of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, where he currently heads the Painting Studio.
