For more than 50 years Walter Bomar was one of the 20th century's most prolific and accomplished graphics illustrator and artist. Born December 28th, 1918 in Ardmore, Oklahoma, he launched his career in Chicago first attending the American Academy of Art and the Chicago Art Institute and subsequently working for the "Chicago Tribune". Later, he moved and settled in New York City where he continued his career and education attending the Grand Central Arts School, School of Visual Arts and the Art Students League while enjoying a prestigious career as a Freelance Artist, Art Director and famous Graphics Illustrator.

Walter Bomar is an American original who was first recognized as an exceptional graphics illustrator. As a member of the Society of Illustrators, he was commissioned to assist in the war effort in the 1940's inviting Americans to invest in US War Bonds by depicting patriotic images.
