Zdzislaw Beksinski

Zdzislaw Beksinski (1929 - 2005) was active/lived in Poland.  Zdzislaw Beksinski is known for Painting.

Zdzislaw Beksinski,born in 1929 in Sanok, was a photographer, graphic artist, illustrator and painter. He studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Krakow University of Technology.

At the end of the 1950s, he worked as a stylist-artist in the Department of the Chief Designer of the Autosan Factory. He began his artistic activity as a photographer, but his success mainly came from painting and sculpture.

At the turn of the 1950s and 1960s, he referred to the poetry of Reiner Maria Rilke and existential content. After 1964, he broke away from the then popular avant-garde activities and devoted himself almost entirely to painting on the border of dark fantasy and surrealism, mixed with his own visions. He also created plaster and metal sculptures.
