Andre Delatte

Andre Delatte (1887 - 1953) was active/lived in France.  Andre Delatte is known for Sculpture.

French artist Andre Delatte was born in 1887. Andre Delatte started his career as a banker. While Delatte was a banker, he visited his clients, the well known Muller brothers at their art glass studios. It was at their studios he discovered his passion for glass and the effects of chemicals in its production. He left banking and studied chemistry, graduating in 1919. Delatte returned to work for the Muller Brothers, but eventually left and opened his own studios. There he employed up to thirty three talented individuals. His success in chemical effects on glass with colors and surfaces parlayed into a broad clientele. This ended in 1933 with the Depression and an influx of eastern European glass wares. He closed his studios then moved south and began another successful career in an insurance business. Andre Delatte passed away in 1953.
