Carol Graham was born in 1951. Carol Graham first came to attention when her painting ‘The Striped Skirt’ was in the Ulster Museum collection. She was then commissioned to paint portraits of people such as Mary Robinson, the past President of the Irish Republic. Graham proved she is also particularly talented in landscapes by producing a collection of them with the subject of the Mourne Mountains and the Antrim Hills. One of the reasons why Carol is so popular is because of the wide audience she reaches. Today, Carol’s work can be seen in both public and private collections in Ireland, Britain, South Africa and Australia. Carol Graham was born in Belfast, Ireland in 1951. She studied at the Art and Design Centre in her hometown. When Carol's painting, 'The Striped Skirt' was shown at an exhibition at the Ulster Museum, the work immediately caught the public's attention. Since then, she has exhibited at the Arts Council of Northern Ireland Gallery, and had numerous solo shows at the Tom Caldwell Gallery. Carol also exhibits with the RUA, where she has been an Academician since 1983. Carol Graham has received a number of high profile portrait commissions including one of Mary McAleese, which is at Queen's University, and a another of Mary Robinson.
