Hajime Okuda

Hajime Okuda (1906 - 1992) was active/lived in Hawaii.  Hajime Okuda is known for Landscape painting.

Hajime Okuda is an Hawaiian landscape painter, whose uses his palette knife with the intention of creating quality works of luminosity, balance and harmony and to evoke the warmth of the great French Impressionists while capturing the beloved memories of mid-20th century Hawai'i. To achieve this effect, he focuses on hue and texture.

He became a member of the first generation of palette-knife painters in Hawai'i. In 1962 he won first prize for his Old House in the Association of Honolulu Artists show. He also won numerous awards, held seven one-man shows, and exhibited in major galleries in Honolulu and on the mainland.
