Artist Biography & Facts
Laszlo De Nagy

Laszlo De Nagy (1906 - 1944) was active/lived in New Jersey, Massachusetts / Hungary.  Laszlo De Nagy is known for Marine, coastal view, still life and figure painting.

Lazlo de Nagy, or "YGAN" as he signed his work, was born in Hungary and studied in
Budapest, Paris and Brussels.  Ernest de Nagy, his father, was  portrait painter for the royal courts in Europe. Lazlo carried on the legacy of the de Nagy name, and became a very talented painter just as his father was.

His first experience in the US was on a painting trip in 1933 when he traveled to the New England area. He made a stop in Provincetown, Massachusetts, and fell in love with the beautiful coastal atmosphere so much so that he decided to live there. This was no surprise, due to his tendency to include elements of seaside and marine views in his works of art.

De Nagy was also known for his still life and figure painting.
